I had a great experience here! The pastries were tasty and the coffee was absolutely delicious. I really appreciated that they took my allergies seriously — every pastry had almond in the dough, so I could only enjoy the croissant, but they were clear and careful about it, which I value a lot. Despite the limited options for me, everything I had was high quality, and I’d definitely recommend this spot to others.

The pistacio cruffin is legend and the matcha super high quality and tasty!
The staff is friendly as well and they're super organised.
Keep in mind on weekends you might have to wait in the Line, but it's worth it.
The area is comfy and near to the centrum.

Great spot to visit. We came early on a Monday and it was relatively quiet. Really tasty pan au chocolates with a very aesthetically pleasing interior

Absolutely love the pastries from SAINT-JEAN! You would not even think they are vegan. Both times I’ve tried here they had great variety of pastries that are always fresh.

Lovely bakery in a cool part of town. The cinnamon croissant was so good I got another one! Great for vegans. My only recommendation would be for some black tea (Ceylon or English breakfast) for us poor British tea addicts!

Excellent selection of some very specialty pastries.
Highly reccomend the Kouign Amann and the Pistachio Allond Croissant.

Personally, I believe this place truly stands out and has no real competition. It is undoubtedly one of the best pastry and coffee shops I have ever visited. The puff pastries, with the unique flavor combinations crafted by the team, are simply unmatched.
Thank you for the wonderful taste experiences and for consistently serving such exceptional coffee.

The pistachio cruffin is the best thing you’ll ever eat. And it’s vegan which makes it even better!! 10/10
…
There are limited seat option and the store is quite small so be prepared to take it on the go. The coffee is good, the flavor was very mild though. We tried two other pastries however they could not compare to the cruffin.
It’s not too far from the city center and you can definitely walk the distance which is why I really recommend visiting Saint-Jean when in Amsterdam!

Came here out of curiosity, because this bakery is so hyped, that people fly from all over the world just to try. Came on a sunday afternoon, it was not very crowded. There were around 3 people before me as I came and the famous pistachio cruffin was still available. There were unfortunately not many other options left, around 6-8 other pastry choices but I ultimately went for the pistachio cruffin.
Do note that I ate the cruffin on the day after, heated it in the airfryer up and the pastry became extra crunchy and scrumptious. The flaky pastry was so buttery, I‘m still in awe because they claim to be 100% plant-based. The pistachio paste had some pistachio crumbs in it. Was creamy, fragrant and perfectly salted. The pastry was covered in sugar but it was not overwhelmingly sweet.
For a normal patisserie, I think they‘re just above average. But as a plant-based patisserie, they‘re definitely one of the best I‘ve tried. I would go back to try their other pastries, as long as I don‘t have to wait for hours in line. But the pistachio paste was so good, I am sure I‘ll get them again too next time 😋

I always come back to Saint-Jean for their legendary pistachio cruffins, they’re seriously the real deal! Flaky, buttery, and soft inside, each cruffin is overflowing with rich, creamy pistachio filling that just melts in your mouth. I’m very critical when it comes to pistachio filling, so this says a lot. It’s indulgent, so perfect to share with a friend, but honestly, you might not want to. 😋 I would highly recommend the pistachio cruffins, they’re absolutely worth trying!
Saint-Jean is fully plant-based, and everything they make is fresh. Beyond the pistachio cruffin, their baked knots are amazing too, the cinnamon lemon knot is bright and zesty, while the cardamom blueberry knot is a fun, unique twist. Everything pairs greatly with their specialty coffee, chai, or tea, making it a cozy spot to sit, relax, and treat yourself.
This place is super popular, so come early, especially on weekends, if you want to snag one of those famous cruffins!
